This 10-day journey through Sri Lanka offers a perfect blend of cultural exploration, scenic beauty, and golfing experience. Start in the coastal town of Negombo and journey through the heart of Sri Lanka, visiting iconic landmarks such as Sigiriya, Dambulla, and Kandy. Enjoy a breathtaking train ride through the highlands to Nuwara Eliya, where you’ll experience two unforgettable days of golfing at the historic Nuwara Eliya Golf Club. Explore local traditions, wildlife, and adventure activities, like white-water rafting in Kitulgala, before ending your trip in Colombo.
Arrive in Sri Lanka, complete your visa and immigration formalities, and proceed to the arrival lounge. A Lux Voyages representative will warmly greet you and transfer you to your hotel.

Take your time exploring Colombo, to truly learn about the country’s past and its rich culture while interacting with friendly locals on a city tour of Colombo. The commercial and cultural capital of Sri Lanka, Colombo is famed for its eclectic culture, and an array of attractions can be found amid the hustle and bustle of the lively city. From Arab traders to the Portuguese, Dutch, and British colonists who occupied the city, Colombo is defined by its history as a melting pot of international influences. Some interesting places to visit are the Independence square, the National Museum, the Galle Face Green, and the widely popular shopping malls.
In the evening, enjoy the sunset over at Galle Face Green, while munching on some freshly made Vadei (from the local street-vendors) or even the Saravita (herbs, sweets, all-in-one chew).
Travel to Kegalle after breakfast.
The Millennium Elephant Orphanage is one of the lesser-known attractions in Sri Lanka. But still, it is one of the most original concepts where you get to experience elephants. The orphaned, injured, elephants are taken care of at the Millennium Elephant Orphanage. If you like to join the feeding, elephant bathing, or even an elephant back ride, this is one of the best locations for all that.
Travel to Dambulla.
Upon arriving at Dambulla, climb the famous Dambulla Rock Cave temple.
This marvelous cave temple complex sets a footprint on the History of Buddhism, art, and traditions of the island of Sri Lanka. With life size statues, art, many ornaments, and the mysterious artifacts such as the never-spilling copper bowl, this visit to the Dambulla Rock Cave temple is a great addition to the hotel. Also, this is one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites available for the tourists in Sri Lanka. Arrive at the hotel and overnight stay.
Climb the famous Sigiriya Rock Fortress in the morning.
Considered as the Eighth Wonder of the world, the Sigiriya Rock Fortress is indeed a marvel and a must-visit location. This was once a kingdom, full of architecture, gardens, water gardens, art, and with advanced technological wonders. The museum at the entrance gives an idea on how this palace and the kingdom used to look like and considering the heritage and the attempts for restoration, there is still a lot to wonder at.
Later, visit the Polonnaruwa ancient city.
The second kingdom of Sri Lanka, majorly influenced under the Hindu rulers, is one of the most vibrant kingdoms that ever existed. With solid crafts on rocks, temples and kovils that were used and still worshipped by devotees, the famous Monkey Kingdom in Sri Lanka and a few attractions at Polonnaruwa.
Return to the hotel and overnight stay.
Leave for Kandy after breakfast.
Upon arriving at Kandy, visit the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic and thereafter enjoy a cultural show. Kandy, strategically situated between three mountain ranges, and the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic (Sri Dalada Maligawa), another UNESCO World Heritage Site. The impressive temple complex, dating back to the 16th century, is made up of numerous buildings decorated with paintings and carvings depicting Buddha. As the name suggests, it’s home to an important relic, the tooth of the Buddha, which is carefully guarded by security night and day.

Considered one of the most breathtaking rail journeys in the world, the ride from Kandy to Nanu Oya takes you through emerald tea plantations, misty hills, and panoramic mountain vistas. Originally built in 1864 by the British to transport tea from the highlands to Colombo, this historic railway has since become a beloved travel experience. The 4-hour journey is now a must-do for any visitor seeking to immerse themselves in the natural beauty of Sri Lanka.

En route visit the filming location for Bridge on the River Kwai movie in Kitulgala and experience the white-water rafting adventure.
Kitulgala is a small town in Sri Lanka, located in the wet zone rainforest and surrounded by mountains. It is known as a popular destination for white water rafting, which takes place in the Kelani River. The rapids range from Grade 2 to 3, making it a thrilling yet safe adventure for all skill levels. The scenic beauty of Kitulgala, with its lush green forests and crystal-clear waters, adds to the experience. The white-water rafting tour typically lasts for about 2-3 hours, and safety gear and equipment are provided. The tour is usually accompanied by experienced guides who ensure a safe and enjoyable adventure.
